Our Teams -
Training for success!

Our club is committed to developing self-confidence, and stresses personal growth and development both as a volleyball player and as an individual. We are athlete-focused, and coach-driven.

From our 13U to 17U competitive teams, our athletes will follow a progressive pathway that recognizes their specific stage of physical, mental and emotional development that is founded on the Sport Canada's Long Term Athlete Development model (LTAD) and accommodates the needs of the Halton volleyball community.

At our younger age levels we offer a Black team and a Blue team. What differentiates the 2 teams is primarily the athletes' skill levels. A goal of many of the athletes on our Blue teams is to develop their skill level, in practice and competitive situations, to in future make the Black team.

Training to Train

HRVC's 13U teams will develop their general fitness and basic volleyball skills under stable conditions and focus on consistency and control. Athletes will be introduced to competitive experiences to perform skills while under pressure, when conditions change, or demands increase. At this stage, athletes will learn skills for all positions and game situations will allow athletes to rotate through all the positions. Basic team tactics will be introduced.

HRVC's 14U teams will continue to develop their basic volleyball skills and focus on gaining more consistency and control. Training will also develop the athlete's speed, strength, and flexibility. Athletes will begin to learn basic team systems and position specialization will be introduced. Tournament experience will allow athletes to transfer volleyball skills and tactics to competitive situations.

HRVC's 15U teams will continue to strengthen their volleyball skills and focus on gaining more consistency, control and precision. The main objectives for the season will be to optimize fitness preparation, volleyball specific skills, and position-specific skills. More advanced team tactics will be introduced. Volleyball skills and tactics will be performed under a variety of competitive conditions during training.
